Covid-19 Emergency Fund

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Healthy Waltham has more than doubled its mobile food pantries to meet the drastic increase in food insecurity in our community. We have served more than 4,000 families since April and that number continue to increase each week. Food pantries are being held on Thursdays and Saturdays at St. Mary’s Church. Please check our Facebook page for information on times and location.

The Waltham Senior Pantries, sponsored by the Waltham Connections for Healthy Aging coalition, for older adult residents of Waltham Housing Authority buildings, has also increased its services, delivering 200 bags per month of groceries and essential personal care and sanitary goods to seniors for the past two years.

Healthy Waltham is following all recommended protocols to keep its staff and volunteers and pantry safe, including safe distancing, curbside pickups, mask and glove requirements, and storage of items.

We are grateful to the many donors who have answered the call to support healthy food access during this challenging time. Even with the generosity of our supporters, the need for funding continues to grow for our emergency pantry. The COVID-19 Emergency Fund was created to meet the urgent need created by the coronavirus pandemic. Any donation is gratefully accepted and will be used to support our Waltham neighbors who are facing profound hardship during this unprecedented crisis.
