Mass in Motion

Waltham is now part of Mass in Motion!

On 1/1/12, Waltham was awarded a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health as part of over $1.5 million designated for Middlesex County from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. These grants help communities tackle the root causes of chronic disease such as poor diet and lack of physical activity. In Waltham, this multi-year grant will enable Healthy Waltham and the City of Waltham to continue our work on health education, outreach, and policy design.

“Mass in Motion” is the name of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s initiative to promote health and prevent obesity through focus on improving nutrition and increasing physical activity.  Several new programs will be introduced through Mass in Motion.
